To give boys a healthful and beneficial summer outing, to clarify their minds and reinvigorate their bodies, to give them
new life and new strength—in a word, to afford them an opportunity for re-creation, not merely recreation—
is the purpose of Pine Island Camp.”

Pine Island's founder wrote these words in 1904, and they are a succinct and accurate description of Pine Island's purpose today.
We seek to give boys ages 9 to 15 an adventurous, happy, safe summer in an atmosphere that will broaden knowledge and strengthen character. To do this, Pine Island keeps its enrollment small, its program varied and imaginative, and its life simple.
Today, when there are hundreds of different summer programs available, a season at Pine Island remains unique. Whether your son
is shy or gregarious, big or small, this camp wants to show him how to be at his best under the varied circumstances of outdoor living.
